How Does Lettergetter Online work?
Teachers who want to be involved sign-up online and their class receives a grade-appropriate email message from Lettergetter on a date set by the teacher.

Sample first email message from Lettergetter

The class responds to Lettergetter’s email, usually as part of shared writing activity led by the teacher.

Lettergetter then responds to all email messages received from that class. The frequency of email correspondence between Lettergetter and the classroom is set by the teacher. Lettergetter tries to respond to all messages received within 24 hours but has no expectation of rapid replies from classrooms.

Lettergetter welcomes stories, photos etc for publication on the site but there is no requirement to do this.

Teachers can opt to have Lettergetter emails reflect and support the learning related to some selected AWARD texts that the class is focusing on at a particular time.

Who is it for?
K–3 classes who use AWARD Reading resources in their literacy program.

What do you need to participate?
Access to the internet, a classroom email address, and a sense of humor.

How much does it cost?
