AWARD Assessment in the Classroom PDF Print E-mail

Movie IconAWARD Assessment is an integral part of the classroom learning environment.

In AWARD, children’s literacy performance is assessed using print, observations, and computer-assisted assessment to gather and monitor information about children’s literacy knowledge and to demonstrate that knowledge as it progresses throughout the Grade 1 year.

Teachers are encouraged to accumulate multiple pieces of evidence collected over time using similar assessment procedures..

AWARD Assessment at Grade 1 level begins in Week 1 with suggestions and Masters that can be found in two places:
– the Teachers’ Guides contain specific suggestions and reference points for assessment including assessment notes. Look for the Assessment symbol and also consult the appendix for page references for Line Masters;
